Virtual School
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Bury’s Virtual School in a brand new post. The successful candidate will have responsibility for overseeing and advising schools, families, and Social Workers regarding the education of previously looked after children and those living in Kinship Care arrangements. In line with the recent extension to the duties of the Virtual School, the successful candidate will support the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher to promote the best educational outcomes for these cohorts of children. This is a great opportunity to join an established, yet growing team resulting from changes to DfE guidance: Promoting the education of children with a social worker and children in kinship care arrangements. The post holder will be dynamic, creative and strategic, working independently but also as part of the wider team. The post holder will have training and development opportunities and will be supported via weekly team briefings, meetings, regular supervision and team development days.
If you feel you have these qualities and are looking for a new challenge, we would love to hear from you!
Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week. This team offers flexible working hours.
