Full time: 35 hours per week Open ended: Permanent Contract The Opportunity The Estates Department of the University of Edinburgh has an exciting opportunity within the Estates Operations team for someone with a proven track record in Water and Legionella Management to lead in providing water compliance and maintenance across the estate. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management and control of all identified risks from legionella bacteria to protect the health and safety of others. They will also undertake the role as appointed Deputy (DRP Water) and be responsible for implementing and managing the University’s Water Safety Plan. This role will also have line management responsibility for the Water Control Officer. This position also plays an important role in the handover and commissioning process of projects, installations etc, and will provide advice on any ongoing requirements/amendments to equipment, procedures or specifications. Your Skills and Attributes For Success Educated to degree level or equivalent, with a building services related Professional qualification i.e. MCIBSE, MIET or CEng, or equivalent experience. Extensive practical experience and relevant technical knowledge of building water systems, infrastructure and major construction projects. A strong and up to date knowledge of professional building services, engineering guidelines and current legislation. Flexible, collaborative, customer focused approach. Strong communication and influencing skills. A thorough practical understanding of Health and Safety legislation and management. £49,250 to £60,321 per annum. Grade UE08
