BioClavis Ltd is a Glasgow-based spin-out of USA based BioSpyder Technologies, Inc. BioSpyder has developed a novel product for targeted sequencing called TempO-Seq, a gene expression profiling tool designed to monitor hundreds to thousands of genes at once in high throughput. TempO-Seq can analyse expression in samples with thousands of cells or from single cells without pre-amplification, maximizing utilization of precious or limited samples. TempO-Seq assays deliver an easy-to-use solution for customers doing expression profiling for any species. The core bioinformatics team is based in Clydebank at BioClavis Ltd, a spin-off company whose primary business is the development of diagnostic tools based on the TempO-Seq technology.
The Role:
Bioinformatics is vital to expand our business. You will use your skills to develop our customer-facing bioinformatics platform and assist with the development of in-house bioinformatics tools. The successful candidate will be involved in a number of R&D projects and will collaborate with commercial and academic partners with different backgrounds.
Responsibilities:
* Contribute to developing and maintaining our bioinformatics web platforms
* Develop in-house analytics and processing in-house tools
* Data QC and data release to internal and external customers
* Assist bioinformatician in data analysis
* Create and maintain documentation
* Ability to work and communicate effectively with a multidisciplinary team including lab scientists, bioinformaticians and business development
* Proficiency in Python
* Experience in Linux operative systems and basic bash commands
* Experience with AWS
* Experience working with git or another code repository
* Sound knowledge of statistics

Starting salary is £26,000; however, this will be negotiable for candidates with proven experience.
