Due to growth, I'm recruiting CNC Turners for a large manufacturing site in Cramlington. Jobs will be varied from low volume complex parts to high volume runs. You'll be producing precision machined components for the renewable energy, oil and gas, robotics, and mining sectors.
You will be required to set and operate CNC Machines to produce a range of components from a variety of raw materials including brass, stainless steel, and aluminium, ensuring all components conform to the engineering drawings.
What you'll be doing:
1. Ensure that all processes are completed in accordance with all applicable Risk Assessments and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
2. Perform any setting / operating duties as requested on or within target times.
3. Read and edit existing CNC programmes to ensure quality and output is optimised.
4. Monitor tooling for wear, adjust offsets or replace where necessary.
5. Use a variety of measuring equipment to ensure all inspection requirements are completed in line with Control Plan instructions.
6. Identify and report non-conforming components ensuring the relevant SOP is followed.
7. Accurately complete all system transactions related to your job role.
8. Maintain and promote a high standard of housekeeping at all times.
9. Perform any pre-shift and maintenance checks as dictated by the plant and equipment you are operating.
This position will be on a full-time, permanent basis. Working hours are an average of 37.5 hours per week on a shift rotation, which involves 10 x 12 hour shifts over a 21-day cycle with 11 days off. There is no weekend working on this shift pattern.
About You:
1. Ideally apprentice trained CNC Machinist.
2. Experience programming, setting, and operating CNC Lathes.
3. Ideally experience using FANUC or Mori Seiki controls.
