An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Clinical Department Manager at the Weston Endoscopy Department.
We are seeking a highly motivated person with a drive for innovation and an aptitude for patient-focused decision making. We require strong leadership skills to support and ensure safe delivery of emergency, therapeutic and diagnostic endoscopy services at the Weston General site. The department operates from 07.30-19.00 Monday to Friday and also provides an on-call emergency team out of hours.
We are looking for someone who is committed and enthusiastic, preferably with clinical experience of working within endoscopy services and an understanding of the Joint Advisory Group (JAG) quality standards. We are looking for the right individual who can positively motivate the team, delegate appropriately and lead change.
Main duties of the job
As the department manager, you will be responsible for a nursing establishment of over 30 members of staff and need to build close working relationships with the wider multiprofessional team. We require excellent communication skills to facilitate safe operational management of the services provided.
You will be responsible for the clinical governance of your area, ensuring patient and staff safety and always striving for a high-quality patient experience. Weston Endoscopy Unit is a JAG accredited unit. You will be required to work closely with the JAG Lead nurse to ensure all quality measures are achieved in order to maintain accreditation status.
You will work closely with the other Trust endoscopy sites including the Day Surgery and Endoscopy Unit team at South Bristol Community Hospital and the Queens Day Unit at the Bristol Royal Infirmary.
