WHAT TO EXPECT Corporate Affairs owns the communication strategy for the business, ensuring high quality, integrated and impactful communications to engage, align and influence across all stakeholders. That includes internal and external audiences – including the effective management of JLR’s communication channels. In the Senior Communications Officer position, your role is to develop and lead the delivery of a plan of communications and engagement activities to inform, support and inspire our people at these sites – helping them to align their work to the wider JLR Reimagine strategy, and feel connected and able to drive change at a local level. You will be working closely with the Propulsion Manufacturing Operations leadership team, you will oversee communications at the site, from quarterly townhalls to monthly management briefing sessions, to running the daily operational newsdesk. You will have experience of both strategic communications and operational storytelling – linking local people news to the bigger JLR picture – acting as corporate gatekeeper to align messages back up to the business-wide agenda. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities • Leading, developing and managing the delivery of the EPMC/BAC communications strategy • Senior stakeholder management with JLR’s senior leadership at the site and across Industrial Operations as needed • Managing the EPMC/BAC internal communication channels network • Leading on the creation of key communications across all EPMC/BAC channels including email, screens, the ‘Our JLR’ app and Team Talk • Support the creation and delivery of JLR wide digital employee communications campaigns for our brands and products where required. WHAT YOU’LL NEED • Excellent communication skills – both spoken and written – with outstanding attention to detail. • Proven ability to plan, manage and deliver communications campaigns and allocate work to the team to support delivery. • Demonstrable experience of producing and delivering relevant, engaging internal communications - including written, film, photography and events – which are tailored to meet the needs of varying audiences. • A good level of competence with photography and video equipment to generate engaging and informative content. • Have an innate news sense and be able to identify good stories from across the business.
