About The Role
The role is part of the New Product Development team, sitting within the Product and Innovation division of the marketing department. The goal of this team is simple, to get as many new products and innovations live and marketed across our group websites as possible. These products can range from simple stocked products to complex manufactured or customisable products, all with their own physical and technical nuances. This role will be involved at all stages, ensuring products are set up on the systems and configured correctly, added to group websites, and merchandised to a high standard, in line with best practices. Central to our strategy, as a group we have a pipeline of hundreds of new product ideas to add across our 30+ group websites. This is an exciting and rewarding role for someone who thrives on having a clear mandate to get things done and wants to see the difference their actions make.
Specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Proactively progress the launching of new products and continuously bring them to market as part of group trading activity, in line with group new product priorities and targets.
* Work with the Ecommerce and web development teams to set up and configure more complex products such as customisable products, or fixings and accessories, in line with group web systems.
* Collaborate as a team with cross company stakeholders to significantly streamline new product introduction processes – including operations, IT, supply chain and trading.
* Collaborate with Trading team on development, management, merchandising and introduction of new products to ensure launches are signed off within group range architecture and all collateral is executed to a high standard, in line with best practices.
* Progress product set up elements and processes for new products, liaising with operations, buying, supply chain, manufacturing, the wider product marketing team, external suppliers and trading managers as appropriate.
* Support the Group Innovation Manager and Manufacturing contacts to source prospective materials and accessories that are compatible with our products and generate additional sales growth.
* Researching and driving new product possibilities and improvements.
* Support research of 3rd party manufacturing or supply options for products we are not yet able to make ourselves, with a view to bringing products to market quickly on a trial basis.
* Support business development where necessary on new website builds and additional commercial opportunities, such as new resellers, marketplaces and outlets.
* Regular reporting and optimisation of new product introductions and working directly with trading to boost chances of success.
* Undertake any other reasonable duties, as required by management.

Qualifications
Essential / Desirable
1. A relevant CIM marketing qualification, marketing degree or equivalent marketing experience. Desirable
Skills
2. Proficiency with large product databases, online stores/ERP systems including bulk product data management and administration. Essential
3. High level of IT proficiency, including MS Office (inc. Excel) – comfortable with mass data manipulation and configuration. Essential
4. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in delivering high quality work in line with Group and wider marketing best practices. Essential
5. Ability to multi-task, work with urgency, under pressure and to tight deadlines. Essential
6. Strong communication skills, both internally and externally. Essential
7. Interpersonal skills and ability to foster strong working relationships. Essential
8. Understanding of product marketing, product management and wider commercial processes. Desirable

9. Working knowledge of how ERP systems, online stores and bulk product data interrelate. Desirable
