Are you a highly resilient individual with a strong interest in mental health?
We are currently seeking full-time/permanent staff for one of our challenging yet fantastic Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Schools located in Hailsham.
This reputable SEMH Provision caters for primary and secondary pupils who are unable to gel into mainstream education due to mental health needs stemming from child trauma and PTSD.
As a Behaviour Mentor you will be on the front line, ensuring pupils' academic and emotional needs are met and maintaining positive behaviour in the classroom. Many pupils will have low self-esteem and find it difficult engaging in lessons and activities; your main duty will be to ensure their emotional and academic needs are met and helping them reach their full potential!
The role can be very demanding both physically and mentally, which requires a high level of resilience in order to be successful. Pupils will challenge staff, so having a great sense of humour, being able to maintain authority, and building professional relationships are non-negotiable skills for this role.
While challenging, the role offers excellent progression opportunities, and you will be surrounded by a team of professionals that genuinely care about your wellbeing and development!
Day to day:
1. You will assist pupils in a range of exciting lessons and activities, tailored to their individual needs to maximise engagement.
2. Promote positive behaviour, using positive reinforcement to build self-esteem and confidence.
3. Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils while maintaining professional boundaries.
4. Help pupils overcome mental health and trauma by creating a fun safe space where they can learn, play and get away from their life struggles!
Teaching Personnel are offering you:
1. Extremely competitive entry salary; £93 - £100 per day!
2. Full-time/Permanent work: In an environment which champions personal development and career progression.
3. A dedicated Consultant: Who has a great relationship with the provision, and a proven track record in successfully placing people into permanent roles within the School.
