We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Wealstun, a category C Prison located near the village of Thorp Arch in West Yorkshire. This is a rare opportunity to join our close-knit Pharmacy team, where no two days are the same!
Hours
This is a full time role, working 37.5 hours per week, 09:00 - 17:00, Monday to Friday.
Salary
You'll receive an annual salary of £24,669 - £28,690 per annum - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As a Pharmacy Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
* Support the Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Manager, as well as the wider healthcare team
* Label and dispense medications, and prepare prescriptions
* Second check controlled drugs
* Contribute to services such as medicine reconciliation, managing stock medicines and transportation of medicines
* Provide support to ensure a safe and secure medicines management service, following policies, procedures and standard operating procedures
* Provide a timely and efficient service to the prison wings
* Receive prescriptions and stock returns from wing-based clinical areas
* Collect orders from suppliers from the Main Gate and arrange collection of returns
* Participate in dispensing of prescriptions

Our New Pharmacy Assistant Will Have:
* An NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Dispensing
* Experience within a pharmacy environment - whether in the community, hospital or a prison/secure setting
* Experience within a patient/customer facing role
