St Andrew's in Rochester, Kent, is a co-educational non-selective school for children from 3 to 11. It was founded in 1951 with clear and simple aims: to offer an affordable education with the emphasis on the ‘three Rs’ – reading, writing and arithmetic – and to promote traditional values. Under the proprietorship of Education Development Trust, which acquired the school in 1999, St. Andrew’s has flourished and has held dear its values – even though society may have changed around it. The school is renowned for its excellent pastoral care and its unfailing and outstanding success in placing pupils at prestigious grammar schools.
