We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated SENDCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to join their team in a full-time, permanent capacity starting this September. Position Summary The successful candidate will lead and manage the school’s provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This crucial role involves strategic planning, effective coordination, and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure that every student receives the support necessary to achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement a comprehensive SEND strategy and policy for the school. Lead and manage the SEND team, ensuring effective communication and coordination. Oversee the identification, assessment, and provision of support for students with SEND. Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for students. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEND provision and implement necessary improvements. Qualifications & Experience: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification. National Award for SEN Coordination or a commitment to obtaining it. Significant experience teaching in a mainstream secondary school setting. Proven experience in working with students with a range of SEND. Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation.
