Employee Type: Co-op (Trainee). This program is designed for students currently pursuing an associate or technical degree, who have completed a portion of their curriculum, and will be completing their program after the coop/intern experience. It is not designed for graduates.
Job Description:
(3) 3-month positions (May 2025 through August 2025)
(1) 8-month position (May 2025 through December 2025)
Duties/Tasks:
* Assisting with troubleshooting, routine maintenance and repairs of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
* Performing preventative maintenance on draglines, coal shovels and facilities.
* Reading and understanding blueprints with the ability to assemble and fabricate parts from them.
* Performing job duties in accordance with MSHA law and regulations, established company safety procedures, and state and federal environmental regulations.
* Other duties as assigned.
Applicants will be trained to operate a boom truck, welding truck, forklift and other support equipment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The successful applicant should have a working knowledge of all phases of welding, cutting, air arcing, grinding, and an understanding of metal properties. Applicants need to have a valid driver’s license, be able to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions and will work rotating shifts.
Educational Requirements:
Enrolled in accredited welding or mechanical maintenance program and in good academic standing.
