Job description
Role: Homeless Navigator
Location: Pan London, Office based in Hackney
Duration: 3-month assignment
Hours: 37.5 hours, Mon - Fri, 09:00-17:00, with 1-2 night shifts a week - 20:00-04:00 (a cab is provided to get you home after a night shift)
Pay: £14.40 Holiday pay = £16.14 or £18.00 per hour via umbrella company
Requirements:
1. Must have an enhanced DBS issued within the last 12 months or on the update service

Role Description:
In this role you will be working across two separate teams
Dealing with Streetlink referrals
all outreach points are central London
Team 1: they keep an eye on 7 different bus routes and go to the central London garage spots where a lot of homeless people gather
Team 2: responding to Streetlink referrals in specific boroughs throughout London
As an Outreach Worker you will:
2. Supporting rough sleepers to access appropriate social care services and accommodation options
3. Be a first response to referrals, carrying out needs and risk assessments with new rough sleepers
4. Update assessments on rough sleepers already known to the team
5. Regularly update the CHAIN database
6. Find the best cause of action for each client's scenario
To be successful you will need to:
7. Have excellent interpersonal skills
8. Be flexible and responsive to meet the needs of rough sleepers
9. Have the confidence and ability to manage a caseload of complex clients
10. Have the necessary IT skills to collect, collate and interpret data
11. Be confident in representing our client at external meetings and with outside agencies
Experience and Qualifications:
This role is suitable for individuals who fall into any of the following categories:
12. Recent social work graduates or current social work students.
13. Those with previous experience working with rough sleepers.
14. Individuals with outreach experience or a desire to work in outreach.
