Head of Employment (Solicitor) – City Law Firm, £100- £130k + doe | hybrid working (2 days in office)
Our client, a highly regarded City law firm, is looking to recruit an exceptional Employment Solicitor to head up and lead their already successful employment practice.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a senior employment solicitor with the strategic vision, leadership skills, and commercial acumen to manage an established team.
About the Role:
As Head of Employment, you will be responsible for shaping and driving the department’s growth, advising a high-caliber client base, and be part of the exponential growth of the firm.
The role will involve:
* Leadership & Strategy – Overseeing and developing the employment team, setting a strategic direction for growth, and ensuring excellence in service delivery. Including sitting on the management team and with Partners as part of the firms exponential growth.
* Business Development – Expanding the department’s client base, leveraging existing relationships, and identifying new market opportunities.
* Client Advisory – Providing expert legal advice to corporate clients and senior executives on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
* Collaboration & Cross-Selling – Working closely with other departments to create synergies and drive firm-wide business growth.
What they are looking for:
The ideal candidate will be a highly experienced and commercially minded employment lawyer with a min of 7 years PQE, including management experience, to take on this high level role with a focus on:
* Extensive experience in employment law, with strong technical expertise across contentious and non-contentious matters dealing with high value clients.
* A proven track record in business development and client generation, with an established network or following being highly desirable.
* Leadership and team development experience, with the ability to mentor and inspire a high-performing team.
* A strategic and commercial mindset, with the ambition to scale up the department.
