An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Physiotherapy Assistant to join our dynamic, friendly inpatient medical and respiratory team. Your job, alongside your team colleagues, will be to deliver an excellent inpatient medical and respiratory Physiotherapy service. You will be working with our current team and the wider MDT to ensure our patients receive timely assessments and treatments to facilitate safe discharge from hospital. With your energy and commitment to our public service, you'll be able to make a huge is part time position, Monday - Friday 0930am - 1430. There is a commitment to support a 7 day service by working approximately 1 in 4 weekends; days back will be given the following Tuesday & Wednesday.
Main duties of the job
As Physiotherapy Assistant, you will be mainly working on the inpatient medical and respiratory wards, supporting the physiotherapy team and working alongside the wider MDT to provide timely assessments and treatments to facilitate patients discharge from hospital. You will also play an important role in helping to prevent deconditioning in our predominantly elderly and frail patients by issuing walking aids, maintaining patients' mobility whilst they are on the ward, as well as providing both chair based and bed exercises. There is also the opportunity to work alongside the wider team by participating in our cardiac rehabilitation classes. This role will also include shared house-keeping duties and stock ordering/management.Alongside other team members, you'll embody our proud to CARE values tocontribute to a truly inclusive workplace.
