About the job you’re considering
As a designer for Policy Control and Charging Systems, your role will be to design and develop the Data Access Policy platforms and interfaces that we need to support 5G/4G/3G mobile data for our customers.
Your focus will be on building a fully 5G Standalone ready control plane centered around 3GPP-standard PCF, PCRF and UDR platforms, their interfaces to BSS and OCS systems, and on building the most efficient policies within those platforms.
Your role
1. Contribute to the design for our cloud native PCF, PCRF, and UDR for 5G, 4G, 3G data, including 5G Standalone
2. Use your direct technical expertise to transform our business needs for new products and services into cost-effective solutions
3. Take the lead on technical relationships with our company’s stakeholders: Operations Support, Test, and WLT - also Marketing, Revenue Assurance, and Service Management, TSA security team
4. Be self-motivated and hard-working, to lead and work within virtual teams, to ensure we deliver the best services
5. Be able and willing to learn continuously, to ensure we keep our network at the forefront of technology
Your skills and experience
6. Proven technical knowledge and experience of PCRF platform architecture, including Diameter interfaces
7. A strong working knowledge of new 5G Standalone architecture and interfaces
8. In-depth knowledge of PCRF policy design to support our company’s current and future data product requirements
9. Good knowledge of BSS provisioning architecture and subscriber management for the PCRF UDR database.
10. A solid technical understanding of cloud native and VNF platform architecture and deployment
11. When looking at design problems, you need a strong ability to see things from our customers’ points of view
Your security clearance
To be successfully appointed to this role you will need to undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard checks.
There are no nationality or residency restrictions, although if you have resided outside of the UK within the last 3 years, further checks may be required.
There are other criteria and checks required for BPSS, and throughout the recruitment process, you will be asked questions about your security clearance eligibility such as, but not limited to, country of residence and nationality.
