The Countess of Chester Renal Dialysis Unit has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurse to lead the team as Unit Manager.
Job Summary
As a Band 7 Unit Manager in this area you will need to possess excellent communication skills, be flexible, compassionate and able to prioritise your workload. You will be working alongside a wider multidisciplinary team and must possess the leadership qualities to enable the team to work together to deliver a high standard of care.
You must have recent experience of working in a senior nurse role and be able to demonstrate clinical knowledge and skills in caring for renal patients.
Main duties of the job
* You will lead and supervise the Unit in an effective and efficient manner, by being an excellent clinical role model.
* You will lead in maximising best use of clinical resources, the monitoring and evaluation of patients undergoing dialysis treatment, and initiating improvements.
* You will lead in providing the highest standard of evidenced based care to all patients and families through ongoing comprehensive assessments of patient's requirements, and to plan, implement and evaluate care delivery to patients with varying levels of complexity.
* You will manage and ensure patient records are maintained and monitored in accordance with the Trust's data collection policy and procedure, ensuring that documentation reflects the care provided and that you address any issues or concerns that arise.
* You must understand governance and its importance in promoting and maintaining a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff. And proactively monitor feedback compliance in these areas.

Qualifications
* Registered Adult Nurse
* Post-registration qualification or evidence of further study
* Management qualification (ISM)
* Mentorship & Assessing qualification
Knowledge and Experience
* Experience as a Deputy Ward Manager or equivalent role
* Completion of the Trust's toolkit competencies within allotted timescale
* Experience in staff management, able to persuade, influence others & handle conflict
* A broad range of clinical experience, including, specialty experience and knowledge
