The team is scaling rapidly and has ambitious growth plans over the next twelve to eighteen months. To support our journey and rapid growth we are looking for a Electronics Engineer to join us. Reporting to our Head of Electronics, you will provide support across projects and teams to design, implement, test and document hardware used in our range of revolutionary compact and lightweight motor controllers. Key responsibilities will include: Design, develop, debug and validate highly integrated multi-layer electronics hardware for use in inverter and converter products for aerospace applications Contribute to design reviews Contribute to the inverter and converter hardware development Contribute to defining and reviewing specifications Support the safety case (ARP4754A/DO254) of the system Conduct simulation and evaluation of electrical and thermal circuit designs Undertake schematic capture, PCB layout design and manufacturing support Evaluate component lifetime, limits and derating Support electronics design verification activities including fault analysis and in-production tests. Support EMC testing and the development of technical files Generate internal and external documentation including designs, analysis, simulation and reviews Contribute to developing the electronics / hardware departments technologies, capabilities, facilities, and processes. Skills and experience required: Degree or equivalent in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, or a demonstratable level of relevant industrial experience Previous proven experience working in relevant industry Knowledge of mixed signal circuit design including analogue, digital, sensor and complex components. Experienced in electronic component selection and characterisation Experience performing design analysis, including worst-case, tolerance, thermal, and stress. Previous proven experience of design with ECAD tools including schematic, PCB, modelling, simulation. Prior experience in Altium Designer is desirable. Experience designing for EMC compliance in accordance with aerospace, military or automotive standards. Experience of Design for Test (DFT) and Design for Manufacture (DFM) Previous experience developing products that comply with functional safety standards (such as ARP4754A/DO254 / ISO 26262) is desirable. Previous experience working with high voltage / high current / high-energy systems, following safe systems of work is desirable. Experience in electronics circuit design validation and tests to verify equipment requirements. Knowledge of working with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, impedance analysers, power analysers etc. is essential. Ability to interface with customers and suppliers with the ability to present information, detail requirements, and understand issues Ability to generate documentation to a high standard for both internal and external customers Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), good collaboration skills, and the ability to work effectively across teams Instinctive problem-solving skills coupled with a sound analytical approach An interest in continuous professional development and combining experience with new or novel techniques A 'self-starter' attitude with the ability to thrive in a small business environment.
