Our client, a successful Events merchandising company, is seeking an experienced international Group Accountant for a newly created role. Reporting to the CEO, this is a fantastic opportunity to be part of the Senior Leadership team. The role will be based in the company’s West London offices with some travel to their European offices.
The Group Accountant will be responsible for supporting the CEO to drive the commercial strategy and manage their UK and German Finance teams, including two Head of Accounts. You will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and oversee intercompany transactions. The successful candidate will play a key leadership role, driving financial performance and ensuring compliance with international standards.
You will oversee the preparation of project and year-end statutory accounts (turnover circa £50mil) in accordance with reporting guidelines. Be responsible for intercompany accounting and ensuring accurate consolidation of financial results across regions in compliance with UK, German, and international financial regulations and standards. The role will involve close collaboration with senior leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning, whilst fostering a positive and inclusive team environment. In addition, you will promote professional development and growth for a team of 9 finance professionals across the UK and Germany.
The successful candidate will be:
* ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
* Experienced in managing teams in international settings.
* Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP, and familiarity with the German taxation system.
* Experienced in managing intercompany accounting across international entities.
* Solid leadership skills and experience of mentoring/coaching a team.
* Proficient in QuickBooks and other financial management tools.
* Able to develop solutions to complex problems and identify process improvements.
* Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Willing to travel to their international offices in Germany and other regions as needed.
The salary on offer ranges from £70,000 - £80,000.
