Job overview
This is an exciting and unique opportunity for a diagnostic radiographer with a special interest in cross-sectional Radiography who is keen to gain valuable experience in Paediatric imaging.
The ideal applicant will have a commitment to continual professional development, will be highly motivated, and show an interest in the future of their specialised profession. You will be expected to support the service and its staff in maintaining the highest standards of imaging and care for our patients while working safely and efficiently to keep the clinical lists running on time. In return, the candidate will have continual support throughout their new career pathway. Applicants will have weekend on-call responsibilities and will be expected to participate in an 8-8 rota with days off included in the week, Monday to Friday.

Main duties of the job
* To carry out all aspects of paediatric MR and CT duties within the cross-sectional imaging suite to a high professional standard.
* Undertake highly specialised MR and CT imaging techniques that require the operation of advanced acquisition and processing software with excellent hand-eye coordination.
* To undertake MR/CT post-mortem pathology cases as required.
* To supervise and train junior radiographic staff in all aspects of paediatric MR and CT imaging.
* To assist with the development and implementation of training plans for radiographic staff.
* To ensure there is sufficient staff with the appropriate skill mix allocated to own area for the safe operation of the equipment and patient safety.
* To promote effective communication with the clinical teams, ward staff, and other departments to ensure patients are appropriately prepared for their investigations.
* To take responsibility for the safety and welfare of patients and their carers during the procedure.
