Vision for Education is seeking a full-time Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Newport.
As an LSA, you will play a key role in supporting the class teacher to engage pupils in their learning and ensure they get the most out of their school experience. Based in a mainstream primary setting, you'll help children of all ages access the national curriculum and build important social skills. The school also has a number of classes that specialise in supporting pupils with a variety of learning and behavioural difficulties which is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in this area as well as experience in a well-regarded school to learn from seasoned educational professionals.
Requirements:
1. A DBS registered with the Update Service (support can be provided)
2. Registered or willing to register with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
3. Ability to provide at least 2 references
4. Willingness to complete safeguarding and CPD courses
5. A passion for education and a commitment to creating a positive learning environment
6. Full-time availability (Monday to Friday)
7. Reliable, consistent, and professional work ethic
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist the class teacher with daily classroom routines and activities
2. Support small groups of pupils with reading, writing, and other learning activities
3. Provide 1:1 support to pupils with learning difficulties
4. Help develop pupils' social and emotional skills
5. Collaborate with the class teacher to plan and deliver engaging lessons
6. Monitor and record pupil progress, sharing insights with the teacher
7. Uphold the school's policies and ensure the safety and well-being of all pupils
