About the role
Are you ready to take on a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing a dynamic, secure workplace? NCFE is looking for a skilled Facilities Manager to join our team at our Q6 office in Benton, Newcastle. This is an exciting opportunity to ensure the smooth operation of our estate, providing an exceptional experience for colleagues, customers, and visitors.
As Facilities Manager, you’ll oversee building services and ensure processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with organisational needs. You’ll work collaboratively with colleagues, contractors, and suppliers to support a safe, high-performing workplace while leading projects that ensure the estate remains effective and fit for purpose.
In this role, you'll help maintain compliance with legal and regulatory standards. You’ll review contractor risk assessments, oversee maintenance schedules, and keep up-to-date records of building service activities. Additionally, you'll manage various facilities projects, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
How you’ll make an impact:
1. Supporting the Head of Health, Safety & Facilities in creating a safe, efficient working environment for colleagues and visitors
2. Managing building systems to ensure all services and equipment are regularly updated and well-maintained
3. Developing and implementing effective solutions to address operational challenges and ensure continuity of service
4. Monitoring and auditing contractor performance while managing permits and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards
5. Acting as a deputy in the absence of the Head of Department, including responsibilities for fire management and health and safety incident reporting
6. Overseeing facilities projects, including procurement, tendering, and supervising on-site works
7. Occasionally provide weekend coverage for high-risk works that cannot be completed during regular hours
We’d love to hear from you if you offer the following:
1. Previous experience in facilities management within a similar environment
2. Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building systems
3. Proven ability to manage contractors and suppliers effectively
4. Experience in project management within occupied environments
5. Experience in using Microsoft Office and building management systems (BMS)
6. Strong communication and problem-solving skills
7. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to collaborate effectively
