Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team is centralto Amazon's commitment to innovation. As Amazon evolves and adapts,this team makes sure that the tools and technologies we use do aswell. As a Senior RME Technician, you'll help us stay one stepahead, adopting the latest technologies and identifying new andefficient ways of working. In this role, you’ll pay close attentionto our processes to help maintain our high standards, and you’llput in place upgrades to take that standard even higher.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Our ReliabilityMaintenance Engineering or RME team keep our equipment performingat its best. We're a technically minded team, made up of excellentteam players and guided by experienced leaders. We work together tomaintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment across our globalnetwork of fulfilment centres. Some of our people are leaders, whooversee the team as they work on exciting technology – some ofwhich only exists at Amazon.
From installingautomated packaging systems to overseeing the general maintenanceof a site to repairing key distribution equipment, our team handlesmost aspects of Amazon’s technical side. This includes keepingbuildings legally compliant, so everyone is safe, and our sites areoperating at maximum efficiency. There are lots of opportunitiesfor progression, both within the RME team and more widely acrossAmazon.
Everything we do focuses on reducingdowntime in Amazon’s crucial operations sites, so customers gettheir orders on time. We often work during early or late hours tocarry out maintenance with minimal disruption, including nightshifts. If we spot a better way to do something, we have the skillsand the opportunity to develop and introduce completely newprocesses or cutting-edge tech like Amazon Robotics and our ComplexItem Sorter.
Shift Pattern: This role includesworking in non-traditional shift pattern, which may include nightsand weekends
Key jobresponsibilities
Demonstrate best practice on usingequipment safely and monitor teams to ensure everyone follows thecorrect processes
Keep track of equipment performancethrough visual checks, condition-based monitoring, and preventativemaintenance tasks and schedule additional servicing when required
Supervise technicians on shift to support theirdevelopment and act as the first point of contact for ReliabilityMaintenance Engineers
Solve issues in equipment toreduce downtime for operations so they can process packages asquickly as possible
Support in finding ways tocontinually improve systems and standardise processes across the EUnetwork
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Apprentice trained with HNC, HND, NVQ level 3
Relevantexperience in a technical leadership role
Relevantexperience working in both electrical and mechanical disciplines
Relevant experience in automation or material handlingequipment environments
Advanced proficiency in verbaland written local language and basic proficiency in English

Experience working in amulti-contractor and multi-site working environment
Understanding of PLC based controls systems and statutorycompliance requirements
Experience using computerisedmaintenance management systems to plan proactive maintenance andrecord reactive tasks
A degree preferably in atechnical discipline, operations, or business administration
