We offer a free, online training package and the opportunity to gain experience in a fantastic SEN school - while getting paid No experience is necessary, its more about you as a person. You will demonstrate a positive attitude, a strong work ethic and be fully committed to learning on the job. What the role entails: As an SEN Teaching Assistant you will support children throughout the class with various levels of specialist educational needs and disabilities while helping the class teacher to maintain a safe and engaging learning environment. Duties can include; General Classroom Assistant Helping children with physical disabilities personal care Behaviour mentor lunchtime cover Requirements To be considered for the National Teaching Assistant Programme, you will: Be available between the hours of 8.30 and 4pm - Monday - Friday, for a minimum of 4 days per week Be compassionate, understanding and caring Be able to build positive relationships with children and young people Be passionate and driven about improving the outcomes for children and young people. Be flexible, proactive and a team player Understand the crucial importance of keeping children and young people safe Be able to demonstrate at interview the reasons why you want to start a career in education and explain your understanding of the role of a Teaching Assistant and the important part they play in the school community Be committed to completing the required training and participating in ongoing CPD. Be willing to pay for an enhanced DBS check and register with the Update Service.
