We are looking for a skilled Project Manager with military service and staff experience (preferably joint rather than single Service) at the SO1 level or higher with excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication abilities. The ideal candidate will be skilled at developing strong relationships with strategic customers and coordinating multiple resources to deliver tailored, high-quality solutions to complex customer requirements.
How you'll support us:
* Successfully deliver MCAST project within budget and to margin or better while maintaining, and ideally enhancing, the reputation of MASS and the joint BAES/TSG partnership with current and potential customers.
* Develop and support business development activity to achieve the TSG and wider MASS business plans.
* Line management responsibility for allocated TSG staff.
* Support the Head of Delivery in providing a holistic RN project delivery function for collaboratively working with Navy Command to ensure effective delivery of required RN projects.
* Understand all project management reporting, accounting, and other related tasks in accordance with the necessary BAES and MASS Company procedures.
* Support the planning and reporting requirements to clients and the necessary contracting authorities.
* Direct the development of exercise planning, including exercise construct, Communication and Information Systems and Information Management in support of the MCAST customer.
* Advise on changes to project support to meet customer requirements within budget and contractual obligations.
* Provide ground management/support of specified exercises and events, including deployment to alternative exercise sites in the UK and overseas for periods up to several weeks.
* Manage expectations of the customer to ensure awareness of the limits of capability.
* Responsibility for identifying opportunities and liaison with other business areas on business development opportunities beyond those just for TSG.
* Represent MASS to potential clients through direct communication in face-to-face meetings, telephone calls, and emails.
Essential Experience:
* Project Management Qualification (e.g. PRINCE 2 Practitioner, APMP, etc) or directly relevant experience.
* Experience of Joint Operational Level exercises (or military exercise delivery at a similar scale).
* Project Management experience.
* Risk management experience.
* Strong communication including written, oral and presentational.
* Strong interpersonal skills with an aptitude in building relationships with professionals of all organizational levels.
* Proven leadership and line management skills.
* Strong customer/stakeholder relationship management skills.
* Capable of hands-on problem-solving, with ability to generate ideas and solutions.
* Ability to lead diverse teams remotely and collectively to solve complex problems and in challenging timelines.
Due to the highly secure nature of the projects that you will be involved with, you must be:
* A UK National and eligible to work in the UK.
* Eligible to obtain and maintain a UK Government DV-level security clearance.
