As an LSA, you will play a key role in supporting children with SEMH needs. You’ll work closely with teachers, other support staff, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for students. Your duties will include:
1. Providing one-to-one and small group support to children with diverse SEMH needs.
2. Assisting in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and personalized learning strategies.
3. Supporting students in managing their emotions, building resilience, and improving their behavior.
4. Encouraging engagement in lessons and promoting positive learning experiences.
5. Helping create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every child feels valued.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Experience: Prior experience as an LSA or in a similar role, particularly in an SEMH setting, is essential.
2. Qualifications: A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or SEN support is desirable but not mandatory.
3. Skills: Strong communication skills, patience, and empathy are vital for building relationships with students and colleagues.
4. Passion: A genuine desire to help children overcome barriers to learning and succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
