Company Philosophy
The Red House (Ashtead) Limited aims to offer the residents in its home the highest standards of care and personal dignity, allowing as much independence as possible within realistic limits. The provision of this care is the staff member’s prime concern, and staff are expected to carry out their duties to these standards at all times.
Purpose of Position:
To support the Home Manager in all aspects of the home’s management, including taking temporary complete charge during the absence of the Home Manager.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Ensure that all junior and domestic staff contribute effectively to the efficient running of the home.
2. Assist the Home Manager in pre-admission assessments and ongoing assessments of residents.
3. Assist residents with personal care needs and provide direct nursing care as needed.
4. Formulate social and health care plans for new residents and participate in resident reviews.
5. Control the issue of drugs and maintain necessary records in conjunction with the Home Manager.
6. Participate in developing activities for residents to enhance their quality of life.
7. Ensure food preparation, cooking, and serving meet required standards.
8. Maintain cleanliness and comfort of rooms and common spaces.
9. Participate in staff meetings and training activities.
10. Support the Home Manager in health and safety duties.
11. Maintain log books and records as required by authorities.
12. Perform pre-admission assessments as required.
13. Conduct continence assessments and plan management options.
14. Undertake Nursing Needs Assessments for residents and maintain the assessment folder.
15. Inform the office of continence charges for residents.
16. Liaise with relatives and professionals to ensure effective communication.
17. Ensure staff supervision is undertaken and records are updated.
18. Assist in organizing Key Worker/Resident meetings.
19. Assist the Home Manager in staff annual appraisals.
20. Ensure all tasks are effectively completed by the Home Manager and Deputy Manager.
All staff are required to carry out duties to the best of their ability in accordance with company policies and procedures. The prime function is the care of residents, but time is usually available to assist with other tasks that meet residents' needs.
Upon starting at The Red House, you will receive an induction and personal development plan. Your progress will be monitored to ensure job satisfaction.
