Claims Handler, Temporary, Full-time
Your new companyHays are working with a public services organisation to recruit for a Claims Handler on a temporary basis
Your new role
1. Investigating, negotiating, review and settling designated claims to include Third Party capture for the Operating Company in a timely and cost-effective manner.
2. Generate correspondence related to claims files and the department.
3. Recover companies’ outlay for vehicles or property damaged as a result of road traffic accidents.
4. Instruct motor engineers to inspect third party vehicle damage.
5. Attend plaintiff engineers’ inspections when carried out on companies’ vehicles or properties.’
6. Dealing with enquires from third parties, solicitors, Insurers.
7. Liaising with internal Departments and external service providers.
8. Liaising with senior handler and office manager as and when necessary.
9. Preparation of file for payment approval.
10. Maintaining GDPR compliance at all times.
What you'll need to succeed
11. Minimum of 6 months experience in a claims environment within the insurance industry with experience of Motor Damage claims.
12. Minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grade C or above, or equivalent, including English and Maths or, alternatively be able to demonstrate at least 2 years relevant experience in a similar post.
13. Experience with Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
14. Good keyboard and data entry skills
15. Good telephone manner and pleasant manner in dealing with internal and external contacts
