A secondary school in Portsmouth is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Technology Teacher to join their team full-time from April 2025. This role is open to candidates with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) as well as Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are eager to start their teaching journey in a supportive environment. Key Responsibilities: Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and creative lessons that cover the Food Technology curriculum. Teach practical and theoretical skills, including food preparation, nutrition, and health and safety in the kitchen. Foster a love for food and cooking, encouraging students to develop their creativity and confidence. Assess students’ progress through coursework, practical activities, and written assignments, providing constructive feedback. Maintain a safe and organised learning environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Contribute to the development of schemes of work and resources within the department. Participate in extracurricular activities, such as cooking clubs or school events, to enrich students' learning experiences. Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practices and promote a positive and inclusive school culture. The Ideal Candidate: We are looking for a teacher who: Holds QTS or is an ECT with a passion for teaching Food Technology. Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and a commitment to high-quality teaching. Has strong organisational and communication skills to effectively plan and deliver lessons. Inspires students to achieve their best and supports them in developing valuable life skills. Is enthusiastic about contributing to the wider school community and engaging in professional development.
