About us Venues in Salford is the commercial catering team for Salford City Council. We are looking for a casual porter/driver to join our successful banqueting, conference, wedding, and outside catering division.
About the Role As a casual porter/driver, you will be directed by management to prepare our venues, including any outside catering events, with the correct furniture, table linen, and AV/IT equipment in line with our customers' specifications to optimize the success of the function. You will take ownership when loading, unloading, and transporting goods and equipment in and around the Salford area, adhering to the most recent Health and Safety guidelines. You will provide our customers with clean, safe, and welcoming buildings while establishing and maintaining the highest level of contact and communication with customers, staff, and relevant officers to ensure we exceed our customers' expectations as a service.
Our casual way of working gives you the flexibility to work hours that suit you. We endeavor to provide you with shifts on a month-by-month basis. If any additional work becomes available, these can be offered to you at short notice. You will be required to work regular evenings and weekends.
About you We are looking for hardworking, trusting, reliable individuals who can work in a team. Your approach to working will reflect our Council's values and will be central to the way in which you behave with colleagues, customers, and partners. A full, clean UK driving licence is essential, and a holder of a lifting and handling certificate, together with a Food Hygiene certificate, is desirable. You will also need to maintain a clean, smart, and professional appearance while on duty, as you will be an ambassador for the Authority.
