A quick look at the role
The Sustainability Executive cross divisional support for core business revenue generation projects, risk management and costs management activities. The role involves working directly with senior managers and front-line staff across the business plus external regulatory bodies, Government departments, customers and other stakeholders.

Your core responsibilities
* Assist with compiling and presenting data and commentary for Biffa Group Annual and Sustainability/CSR report.
* Production of carbon foot printing assessments for specific customers, contracts, new projects
* Generate and provide the internal communications, and marketing teams with original content on sustainability and environmental topics to promote the business with key internal and external stakeholders and improve employee engagement. Present and deliver materials to relevant audiences.
* Provide assistance with compliance on ESOS (Energy Savings Opportunities Schemes) and the new Statutory Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR)
* Assist with supporting the tender team in providing answers to sustainability and environmental questions and generating data and answers to sustainability and environmental ratings for customers and investors as well as environmental accreditations.
* Assist with generation of materials for sustainability and environmental campaigns and associated communications including Biffa Award awareness raising and Eco Campaigns
* Work on the generation of responses to relevant national and local policy and regulatory consultations where they concern sustainability or carbon reporting, engaging with external bodies as necessary including FTA, and Sustainability Clothing Action Programme, so as to help influence and safeguard the Group’s current and planned business activities necessary to achieve key corporate and national commercial and environmental strategies.
* Undertake data collection, analysis and compilation to assist with the completion of selected sustainability ratings, both for customers and investors.

Our essential requirements
* Educated to degree level (ideally in a relevant area)
* Understanding and experience of delivering Environmental / Sustainability strategy
* Up to date knowledge of environmental legislation and policy
* Strong IT skills including all Microsoft packages
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines
