Overview: A dynamic engineering company is seeking a skilled PLC & Electrical Systems Engineer with expertise in Mitsubishi PLCs. The role involves programming, troubleshooting, and optimizing electrical control systems, with a focus on Mitsubishi PLCs within industrial environments. This position requires a strong understanding of automation processes, control standards, and electrical system safety.
Key Responsibilities:
PLC Programming & Troubleshooting:
* Develop, test, and maintain Mitsubishi PLC programs for equipment.
* Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in PLC systems and control panels.
* Modify PLC programs for performance optimization or system upgrades.
Electrical Control Systems:
* Design, install, and commission electrical control systems for industrial machinery and automation equipment.
* Interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
* Ensure compliance with electrical standards and safety regulations (IEC, NEC, CE).
Maintenance & Optimization:
* Perform regular maintenance and support for Mitsubishi PLC systems.
* Integrate PLCs with HMI, SCADA systems, sensors, and other industrial control devices.
* Conduct system testing, calibration, and validation to ensure optimal performance.
Technical Documentation:
* Create and update technical documentation, including schematics, PLC programs, and procedures.
* Accurately document all system modifications and updates.
Compliance & Safety:
* Ensure all installations comply with health and safety regulations.
* Collaborate with safety teams to implement machine safety systems.
Training & Support:
* Provide training and technical support to team members on Mitsubishi PLCs.
* Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical issues throughout the plant.
Essential Criteria:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field (or equivalent experience).
* 3-5 years’ experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting.
* Proficiency in Mitsubishi PLC programming (GX Works, GX Developer, MELSEC).
* Strong understanding of electrical control systems, panel wiring, motor controls, and power distribution.
* Knowledge of IEC, NEC, and related standards.
* Hands-on experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
* Additional knowledge of PLC platforms (Siemens, Allen-Bradley) is advantageous.
* Excellent problem-solving, communication skills, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Criteria:
* Ability to work on-site in manufacturing environments, sometimes involving physical tasks.
* Flexibility for occasional travel and after-hours support.
* Certifications such as 18th Edition, CompEx, or Mitsubishi PLC certifications are a plus
