HSBC Asset Management (AM), the investment management business of the HSBC Group, serves HSBC’s worldwide customer base of retail and private clients, intermediaries, corporates and institutions invested in both segregated accounts and pooled funds. We have an opportunity within HSBC Asset Management business for a Senior Product Developer and Structurer – This is an Associate Director level role.
The AM Product Group oversees the strategic and commercial growth of AM Product manufacturing capabilities, encompassing Development, Management, Governance, Support, and Mandate for delivery worldwide - this position is part of a global team that handles Product Development. The role involves collaborating closely with stakeholders (Investment, Sales, RI, external legal, Product) to establish regulatory needs and incorporate them into the HSBC fund offerings. It will serve as a subject matter expert, taking charge of executing the product tasks for regulatory change projects and requirements within the Irish and Luxembourg regions product ranges. Responsibilities include ensuring awareness and comprehension of new definitions and requirements, facilitating product proposals for solutions, collaborating with stakeholders to pick the best proposal, and guaranteeing that the necessary requirements are met. These encompass governance, data, monitoring, documentation updates, regulatory considerations, and, when suitable, investor notifications.
In this role you will:
1. Lead Regulatory projects and serve as the subject matter expert for regulations related to the core product set, such as UCITS, SFDR, SDR, MIFID, and AMF Doctrine, with knowledge of regulations in Hong Kong and Germany.
2. Develop proposals for funds based on new or updated regulations for products within the Luxembourg, Irish, or UK ranges, covering equity, multi-asset, fixed income, and liquidity.
3. Stay informed about regulations, collaborate with stakeholders on regulatory matters, and establish fund requirements.
4. Play a key role in setting house definitions, particularly related to Sustainability, representing the Product and considering various factors like investor needs, fund impact, regulatory mandates, governance, and implementation.
5. Lead, manage, and successfully implement changes to funds, mergers, and closures with strong governance practices to ensure compliance with internal and external product governance standards, including local regulatory and FIM requirements.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
1. Extensive background in investment management and expertise in investment strategies, asset classes, and asset management products.
2. In-depth understanding of fund regulations, including UCITS, SFDR, and Mifid.
3. Prior experience in product development and regulatory compliance is a key requirement for this position.
4. Proven project management abilities, including the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, secure consensus, and oversee intricate projects.
5. Demonstrated proficiency in analysing and outlining the cascading effects and needs related to change requirements within fund documentation and business models, and implementing necessary adjustments.
