Subject Leader for Design Technology
Full Time – Permanent
Teachers Main / Upper Pay Scale plus TLR 2B
Required for September 2025
We are looking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic subject leader and teacher to work in the Technology faculty teaching Design Technology from KS3 to A Level. This is a permanent position from September 2025.
We would also value staff who can offer additional skills in one or more of these subject areas: Art; Graphics; Design Technology; Food; Hospitality & Catering. Ideally you will have experience in teaching DT at Key Stage 3, GCSE, or A Level.
Redborne pride themselves in their involvement with the GreenPower Education Trust, running our own team known as ‘Redborne Racing’. An additional TLR payment may be available for a suitable candidate with the relevant experience, enthusiasm and interest.
The Technology Faculty consists of a team of 16 teachers and 5 support staff working in modern, spacious and well-equipped facilities. Technology facilities include state-of-the-art practical, theory and IT rooms and are very well-resourced with equipment. Redborne is committed to a broad and balanced curriculum and all Technology subjects remain very popular both at Key Stage 4 and in the Sixth Form.

Redborne is a successful school on a spacious and pleasant campus near the market town of Ampthill in Bedfordshire. We achieve excellent examination results with about three-quarters of students typically gaining Maths and English at grades 9 – 4. ‘A’ Level results are also very good with over half at ‘A*’, ‘A’ or ‘B’ grades and an overall pass rate of 99.9%. About 80% of the Sixth Form go on to university and each year a number of students get into Oxbridge. The school is well regarded, oversubscribed and situated in a very pleasant area of Central Bedfordshire, within easy reach of London.
