Role: Legal Counsel, Europe & Africa – Mobility Sector

Summary:
We seek a highly skilled candidate with 5 years post-qualification experience (PQE) to join our Mobility team as a Legal Counsel. The ideal candidate will be a generalist with both private practice and in-house experience and possess expertise in commercial contracts, corporate law, foreign direct investment, consumer protection, franchising and data protection.
Reporting directly to the Chief Legal & Assurance Officer, Mobility this candidate will be pivotal in providing comprehensive legal advice and support for our rapidly expanding Mobility business and operations across Europe and Africa.
It is crucial this person is a dynamic and self motivated individual who looking for a more autonomous role with a broader remit.
Job Responsibilities:
* Support the Chief Legal & Assurance Officer, Mobility in providing legal support to the European and African Businesses such as negotiating commercial contracts including Automotive Distribution and Dealer Agreements; Joint Venture Agreements, M&A, Data Processing Agreements
* Support the rollout of legal templates, privacy and competition policies, programs, and best practices for Mobility, including training and awareness programs for the business teams
* Provide training to internal stakeholders on Legal policies and processes (e.g Sanctions, GDPR, AML, FCPA/Bribery Act to facilitate operational efficiency and compliance)
* Actively work with the Legal team and Mobility Business in identifying legal & privacy requirements and assessing the existing gaps and areas of concern
* Prepare strategic and risk reports and progress updates to the various oversight committees and other stakeholders
* Ensure complete documentation and timely updates of sector-specific policies, standards, guidelines, risks, exceptions, management action plans, and legal processes
* Support with new market entry and business set-up in new markets and advise on the risk mitigation strategies for strategic, legal and reputational risks
* Support senior management in European and African businesses with commercial, corporate, competition and privacy matters
* Ensure critical projects undertaken within the Mobility sector are in line with the standards set by the Legal team and monitor progress on assigned action plans in coordination with the relevant stakeholders
Skills & Qualifications / Requirements:
* A qualified European Lawyer with a minimum of 5 years PQE ideally combining private practice and in-house experience
* International Law Firm training and qualification preferred but not obligatory.
* Fluent English and other languages Italian, Polish, German, Arabic, Chinese highly desirable.
* Demonstrable expertise in legal work relating to commercial contracts, corporate law, foreign direct investment, consumer protection, franchising and data protection
* Comfortable handling regulatory work and liaising with regulators
* Able to work independently, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
* Highly motivated and able to work independently under pressure
* Culturally sensitive with a collaborative approach with international team members and stakeholders
