MULTI SKILLED MAINTENANCE ENGINEER Location: LEES’ OF SCOTLAND, COATBRIDGE Shift: DAY SHIFT (EARLY/LATE ROTATION) Salary: COMPETITIVE We have an exciting opportunity to join the Engineering team in a permanent role as an Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer, based at our Lees’ site as part of ‘Finsbury Food Group’, working on a day/back shift rotation and cover 10 Saturdays out the year, where a 6 hour, 6am-12pm maintenance shift is performed. You may know us from our Snowballs, teacakes, or meringues, as we have been manufacturing confectionery and meringues since 1931 to major retailers across the UK. We employee 250 people at our modern 80,000 square ft factory which is located just outside of Glasgow and is easily accessible by public transport. We have joined one of the UK’s leading specialty bakery manufacturer Finsbury Food Group earlier this year who make the bread for your morning toast, the buns, muffins, and other treats that turn teatime into quality time and retailer own brands cakes, tray bakes through to party cakes like Caterpillar cakes. To be a success in this role, you will be a fully qualified multi-skilled maintenance engineer, preferably with experience in the food manufacturing industry. You will thrive working in a fast-paced environment and be able to work as part of a team and demonstrate clear communication skills. This is what you’ll actually do In this busy and varied role, you will be a vital part of the Engineering team and will be responsible for assisting in the daily maintenance of production equipment. You will be required to deal with any unscheduled and emergency maintenance work, including all fault finding and necessary repairs, ensuring quick and efficient management of breakdowns that occur. You will strive to identify the root cause on each occasion and will be responsible for the booking of the duration, root cause and materials used through the Company Engineering systems You will also be required to deliver the maintenance programmed in line with the planned preventative maintenance vision with all works performed following a, ‘clean as you go,’ ethic in accordance with good manufacturing practice. You will also ensure that maintenance work is carried out with due diligence and in compliance with food safety, health and safety and legal and quality systems. There will be the opportunity within the role to participate in project work including continuous and profit improvement and you will be able to share your ideas about improvements that can be made to production lines, individual machinery or other operations. In this role you will work closely with the site operations team and therefore you will need excellent communication to build positive relationships with key stakeholders.
