Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bench Hand Joiner. As a Bench Hand Joiner, you will play a crucial role in crafting and assembling high-quality joinery products. This position requires a combination of woodworking expertise, precision, and a passion for craftsmanship.
Responsibilities:
* Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood components to construct various joinery products such as doors, windows, cabinets, and furniture.
* Interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate production of joinery items.
* Use hand tools and woodworking machinery with precision to fabricate and finish wooden components.
* Perform tasks such as planning, sanding, shaping, and fitting components to achieve desired finishes.
* Collaborate with team members, including designers and other joiners, to ensure project requirements are met.
* Maintain a safe and organised work environment, following best practices for woodworking and workshop safety.
* Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
* Assist in the development and improvement of joinery techniques and processes.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a Bench Hand Joiner or similar woodworking role.
* Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Attention to detail and a passion for crafting high-quality joinery products.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks that may involve lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
* Knowledge of woodworking techniques, joinery methods, and wood finishes.
* Certification or training in woodworking or joinery is a plus.
