Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary primary healthcare team delivering primary healthcare nursing including elements of occupational health.
The post holder will work with the Senior Practice Nurse or Senior Medical Officer within the medical facility (MF).
Depending upon qualifications and experience, the post holder will be responsible for the delivery of appropriate assessment, treatment, screening, and advice to patients within their professional competence and in accordance with Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) clinical guidelines and protocols.
Job responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:
* The post holder will provide high-quality person-centred care which always considers people's safety, privacy, and dignity using advanced clinical knowledge that is evidence-based.
* Undertake technical nursing treatments and procedures for patients (e.g., wound care, sutures removal, Electrocardiogram (ECGs).
* Provide assistance to the Senior Medical Officer performing minor surgery
* Assist with health and well-being clinics (e.g., smoking cessation, weight management, alcohol misuse) using health promotion, health education, screening and therapeutic communication skills.

Qualifications
* Degree, diploma or appropriate training as recognised by professional body (NMC/HCPC etc) in a relevant area.
Registrations and Memberships
* Registered Nurse on part 1 of the NMC register.
* Please provide your membership registration number.
* You are required to be registered with the relevant professional body, as detailed in the advert, prior to submitting your application.
* Your application will not progress should you fail to provide a valid membership registration number.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
