Bates & Bradshaw are working in partnership with an employer who manufacture high performance electrical cable assemblies and control panels for defence, aerospace, marine, industrial and commercial applications.
We are looking to recruit a Production Team Leader for our busy shop-floor environment to support the management team with the day-to-day running of the operation.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Plan, direct, and coordinate the manufacturing of products in compliance with customer contractual requirements.
* Oversee the allocation of personnel, material, and equipment resources to meet production schedules.
* Manage production planning and scheduling.
* Maximize the efficiency of production lines and ensure effective employment utilization.
* Develop and motivate cost-effective alternatives and improvements to the production process.
* Maintain employee safety by creating a safe and efficient working environment.
* Organize and direct workflow to satisfy production requirements cost-efficiently.
* Work closely with all departments (Purchasing, Process Engineering, Quality, and Stores) to analyse and resolve major process and quality issues.
* Support plant layout, facility planning, and other new projects.
* Interact with customer visit in and when required.
* Train and developing new employees, in line with the skills matrix.
* Supporting and building Cables when and if needed.
* Create and Implement KPI’s
* Attending external and internal training courses as and when required.
* Business travel as and when required.
About You
* Engineering experience, with the ability to read engineering drawings.
* Commercial awareness, with knowledge of key suppliers of wire, cable, and components.
* Ability to analyse, find, and present solutions to improve efficiency
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Extensive knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn production processes.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to serve as a liaison with customers, operations, and suppliers.
* Knowledge of IPC and VG standards.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, and MRP systems.
* Can manage multiple projects simultaneously.
