The Details...
Reporting to the Global Clinical & Applied Technical Director, this exciting and ambitious role involves working within a cross-functional team to provide high-quality technical expertise, training, consultancy and representation for key strategic partnerships and customers in the clinical and applied space. The successful candidate will be working closely with customers, prospective customers, KOLs, external partners and key internal teams to provide technical support for clinical and applied products during early access phases. The post holder will strengthen the company's relationship with scientists in the applied field and ensure successful adoption, evaluation and implementation of end-to-end solutions aligned with company vision and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide front line clinical and applied applications solutions support to external partners and closed early access customers on all aspects of the Nanopore sequencing workflow including sample preparation, sequencing and data analysis.
2. Support with implementation and adoption of new clinical and applied solutions, troubleshooting and guide them during early access phases.
3. Working with customers in their labs to run the new workflows end-to-end so as to gather good quality feedback on product performance, usability, etc.
4. Co-ordinate, lead and deliver training, demos and solution evaluation with external partners and beta sites.
5. Work in collaboration with internal team to complete evaluation of external partner's solution and provide high quality technical feedback to project leads.
6. Together with the Global Director, support external partners training and onboarding and manage 2nd line technical support during project phase and early commercialisation.
7. Working with the Global Technical Director and Technical Enablement team, develop technical documentation and train global technical support teams.
8. Providing technical consultations on products and related applications as part of the regional sales cycle.
What we're looking for...
1. An MSc or PhD in life sciences, or equivalent experience.
2. Solid background of lab experience, with proven knowledge and understanding of genetics, molecular biology, cell biology and related fields.
3. Experience working in clinical or diagnostic labs/organisations.
4. Knowledge and practical experience with sequencing or NGS platforms.
5. Experience within a regulated environment.
6. Previous experience with oral presentations, teaching, or training other scientists.
7. Commercial experience with support, or within a customer-facing role, would be a plus.
8. Previous experience as a field applications scientist within a clinical market would be desirable.
