Calisen is seeking a dedicated Safety and Technical Manager to support the HS&E and Technical Management requirements of all PMI-related activities, including EV, solar, battery, and heat pump installations. This role ensures the effective management of Technical and Health and Safety standards within the PMI business in line with Calisen Group requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Implement emergency response and business continuity processes for office-based and field activities.
2. Set and enforce Technical and Health and Safety standards across the operational field force and support activities.
3. Ensure the suitability of Technical Specifications for vehicle charging, Solar PV, battery, and associated technologies.
4. Maintain formal management systems and processes in line with ISO certifications (ISO 45001 and 22301).
5. Liaise with training functions to ensure suitable training packages and Industry Qualifications.
6. Maintain HS&E and Technical registrations, professional memberships, and industry schemes.
7. Promote safe working within PMI and effective cooperation with all parts of the Calisen business, partners, customers, and stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities:
8. Ensure installations comply with industry and company standards.
9. Agree audit and inspection processes to ensure compliance with legal and contractual obligations.
10. Assist or lead in industry external audits associated with safe contractor status.
11. Develop and support a proactive environment encouraging technical innovation and hazard awareness.
12. Ensure field operatives and supervisory staff are adequately trained and accredited.
13. Investigate complaints, accidents, and incidents, and prepare technical investigation reports.
14. Represent the PMI Team as part of the Incident Review Team.
15. Undertake horizon scanning to identify threats and opportunities associated with industry changes.
Qualifications:
16. Basic professional health and safety qualification (NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent) - Essential
17. Higher level health and safety qualification (NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent) - Desirable
18. CDM Principal Designer or Contractor training (IOSH or HSE approved courses) - Essential
19. C&G 2365 or equivalent training and experience in electrical installation services - Essential
20. Environmental Qualification (IOSH or IEMA approved courses) - Desirable
Experience:
21. Extensive experience within an HSQE environment is essential
22. Hands-on site experience in an electrical installation role
23. Experience with certified management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001)
24. Experience in developing and delivering training and presentations
25. Experience driving a positive HSQE culture within the business
26. Experience in accident and incident investigations
Skills/Abilities:
27. Computer literate with intermediate Microsoft Office skills
28. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
29. Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
30. Confidence to present HSQE information to groups
