Job summary We are looking to recruit a Therapy Assistant with experience in Rehabilitation to work closely with the current Therapy Assistants team and wider MDT of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists and Clinical Psychologist. The post holder will be working in a dynamic environment providing high quality treatment programmes under the supervision of the wider therapy team to individuals with a range of neurological conditions. You will have the opportunity to work closely with your patients and utilise an array of resources and up to date technology and run therapy group sessions and activities. There will be opportunities to run/attend regular training, receive regular supervision and Continuing Professional Development is actively encouraged. We hold weekly therapy team meetings and in service training. Main duties of the job As a Therapy Assistant at Marbrook you will be a key member of the MDT providing rehabilitation to our group of residents. You will be carrying out treatment interventions as instructed by therapists, this may include exercise sessions, walking practice, supporting someone with washing and dressing, and aiding with their communication. You will also support the team with discharge planning, this can include liaison with outside agencies such as social services, equipment services and third sector organisations such as Stroke association or Headway.
