About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 11 The Team : The Non-US Indirect Tax team is a global team of four professionals dedicated to ensuring compliance with indirect tax regulations outside the United States. The team is responsible for managing all aspects of non-US indirect tax compliance, including statutory filings, audits, and tax claims. With a focus on collaboration and efficiency, the team values inclusivity and continuous improvement to support S&P Global's business divisions effectively. Responsibilities and Impact: VAT Compliance Support : Ensure VAT compliance outside the US, including filing statutory returns and managing related audits. Global VAT Management : Assist in managing VAT obligations for the global supply of digital services and international conferences. Account Reconciliation : Review reconciliations of various indirect tax accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance. Coordination : Coordinate with external tax compliance providers and internal finance teams to ensure VAT compliance frameworks and processes are well-structured, efficient, and executed accurately and on time. Policy Development : Lead the development and implementation of Global T&E VAT recovery policies and procedures. Indirect Tax Policies : Assist in developing and maintaining indirect tax accounting policies and procedures. System Updates : Work with internal teams to ensure rate changes and new tax rules are timely incorporated into systems and processes. Project Support : Support large-scale enterprise transformation and tax technology projects, such as implementing an automated e-invoicing solution to meet tax mandates. Guidance and Risk Management : Provide guidance to business divisions on VAT-related inquiries to ensure tax risks are managed appropriately. Risk Assessment : Conduct risk assessments for indirect tax processes, identifying areas for control enhancements to improve operational efficiency and ensure compliance. Team Management : Manage and mentor a Transaction Tax Specialist to ensure effective performance and development. What We’re Looking For: Basic Required Qualifications : Experience : 6 years of experience in tax compliance with a strong focus on indirect tax compliance to establish and maintain efficient and accurate processes. Knowledge : Good knowledge of indirect tax laws and regulations to assist SPGI’s business divisions. Skills : Excellent reporting and analytical skills. Team Management : At least 1 year of team management experience. Collaboration : Experience working closely with controllers and finance teams. Hybrid role - 2 days a week work from the UK office Additional Preferred Qualifications : Technical Skills : Experience with Oracle and Vertex systems is desirable. Compliance Environment : Experience working in a SOX-compliant environment is desirable. Advisory Experience : Prior experience in providing indirect tax advisory services is preferred.
