Join our team at Keolis Amey Metrolink (KAM), the largest light rail network in the UK!
We are currently recruiting for an S & T Engineer to join our Asset Management and Engineering team within Manchester's iconic Metrolink.
As an S & T Engineer, you will support our clients' Engineering Department in defining and improving how Metrolink's S&T assets are maintained for effective, safe, and reliable performance. The S&T Engineer will provide second line support to the maintenance teams regarding fault finding and investigation of system failures. The S&T Engineer will support the delivery of S&T renewals and projects and manage third party support contracts.
Working under the guidance of the S&T Engineering Manager, the role will analyze performance data and report on asset performance and condition. The S&T Engineer will support the development and implementation of improvement initiatives.
Key accountabilities will include:
1. Work with the asset management team to analyze and report on asset performance and asset condition, driving improvement through raising renewals and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
2. Support the delivery of internal projects.
3. Support on complex root cause investigations.
4. Provide technical support to frontline maintainers.
5. Effectively engage with client stakeholders to ensure contractual obligations are delivered satisfactorily.
6. Work collaboratively with internal Engineering teams.
7. Apply Reliability Centred Maintenance to drive maintenance efficiency and asset performance improvement.
8. Contribute to the delivery of a high performing team through ensuring objectives, standards, and key performance indicators are met.
9. Keep abreast of Industry best practices and deliver appropriate improvement initiatives for KAM.
10. Contribute to building an inclusive culture, taking a zero-tolerance approach to behaviours and attitudes that go against the FREDIE culture, escalating matters to management when appropriate.
11. Ensure own health, safety, and wellbeing in the workplace and that the zero harm principles and a just culture are demonstrated in all ways of working.
12. Ensure compliance with relevant policies, regulations, and standards.
13. Support the development and implementation of relevant policies, procedures, task briefs, and work instructions to underpin the Engineering ways of working.
What you'll bring:
1. Educated to degree level in a STEM subject and/or experience of working in an engineering environment.
2. Chartered Engineer or willingness to work towards.
3. Knowledge of Signalling and Telecoms assets.
4. Knowledge of Reliability Centred Maintenance principles and its application.
5. Experience working in a light rail or rail environment.
6. Experience of using a Computerised Maintenance Management System.
7. Ability to analyze data from a range of sources both quantitative and qualitative, including incomplete sources.
8. Strong communicator both verbally and in writing.
9. Excellent IT skills including the ability to manipulate data in standard Microsoft Office software.
10. Ability to understand and interpret legislation and standards relating to light rail systems.
