We are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a forward-thinking and inclusive secondary school in the Newport area. This role involves working with students aged 11–16, providing tailored support to those with a range of special educational needs including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Physical Disabilities, Complex Needs, Challenging Behaviour, and Speech & Language Difficulties. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is compassionate, patient, and committed to helping children thrive both emotionally and academically. ✨ Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities Will Include: Working closely with the class teacher and senior leadership team to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. Offering 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEN, helping them overcome barriers to learning. Delivering and adapting pre-prepared learning programmes to meet individual needs. Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive behaviour within the classroom. Supporting the teacher with general classroom duties such as lesson preparation, creating engaging displays, and maintaining a tidy, organised workspace.
