About the Role:
As part of the Net Zero Engineering Business Unit, you'll work on a wide variety of projects aimed at reducing carbon emissions and securing future energy supplies. This role focuses on diversifying the energy mix, including power generation (gas, biomass, hydro, and nuclear), hydrogen production and storage, natural gas cavern storage, and industrial decarbonisation.
In this position, you'll lead technical mechanical engineering efforts while mentoring and developing junior team members. You'll also assist with team coordination, ensuring smooth resourcing and communication across projects.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide technical leadership on mechanical engineering projects, from feasibility studies to detailed designs.
2. Supervise, mentor, and develop other team members.
3. Coordinate team activities, including resourcing and meetings, in collaboration with the group lead.
4. Work on diverse tasks, ranging from small individual assignments to multi-disciplinary projects.
Skills & Experience Required:
1. Master's degree (MEng/MSc) in Mechanical Engineering.
2. Chartered Engineer status and IMechE membership (preferred).
3. Strong technical foundation with experience in highly regulated industries such as power, chemical, or oil & gas.
4. Expertise in areas such as:
1. Pipe stress analysis.
2. Equipment specification and engineering documentation.
3. Pressure part design calculations.
4. Plant layout design.
5. Checking and providing assurance of deliverables.
