GENERAL FUNCTION
* Lead the support team and operations for all automation equipment and processes that have been released to production.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Write new recovery procedures or update existing procedures after an improvement.
* Manage shift assignment, sick time, vacations of team members and timely approval of weekly attendance in Kronos.
* Maintain team members' presence on all night shifts during team member absences, including vacation and sick time.
* Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, and costs.
* Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards.
* Support production requirements in an active response role for system performance and equipment performance.
* Support and resolve specific equipment concerns, coordinating with internal and external vendors as needed.
* Become adept at understanding and troubleshooting specific equipment.
* Coordinate with cross-functional groups to accomplish objectives and develop teams. Responsible for collaborating with the training department to provide employees with soft skill, social, and technical training.
* Collect, record, and analyze data.
* Evaluate and present recommendations for Continuous Improvement.
* Lead process improvement projects in cross-functional teams.
* Advise and/or lead corrective action activities.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of equipment maintenance experience or 6+ years of experience and 2 years of people management in a manufacturing facility.
* State of Massachusetts electrical license or eligibility requirements.
* Working knowledge of equipment troubleshooting and lean manufacturing principles.
* Ability to troubleshoot servo drives specifically AB drives, with potential knowledge of replacing and programming drives.
* Specific knowledge of Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (PFMEA) and writing equipment or process/product validation documents.
* Strong knowledge in electromechanical systems and troubleshooting utilizing Allen Bradley PLC ladder logic 5000.
* Strong knowledge in Magnemotion and Montrac conveyor systems, with potential capability to replace node controllers, motors, TCU units, and IRMs.
* Coordinate effective collection of data from production equipment to improve operations and reduce downtime.
* Review collected data with Methods, Maintenance, and Technical Support groups. Analyze the data and make recommendations.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
* Proven ability in project management skills.
* High level of written and oral communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Knowledge of process automation, packaging, inking, and mispack resolutions is a plus.
* Knowledge of vision systems, databases, computers, and automated equipment is a plus.
