Working within a small team of safety professionals the Health and Safety Manager will provide strategic advice and leadership on all aspects of Health and Safety toenable the Trust to act within relevant legal policy frameworks to meet the statutory obligationsrequired by UK and EU law.
The Health and Safety Manager will design and Implement the Trust’s health and safety strategy, policy, procedures and processes to ensure that the Trust has safe systems of work in place that are integrated into existing organisational and operational structures to ensure the safety of all users and visitors to Trust sites.
They will have strong influencing skills and be able to challenge directors, managers, contractors and staff of all grades with regard to behavioural health and safety matters. The post holder will also be required to engage, train and challenge professional groups, external stakeholders and organisations to actively encourage, support and develop innovative methods to promote and raise awareness of health and safety across the whole organisation.
The role requires the post holder to perform and report on site specific safety audits of workplaceactivities and functions, with regular analysis of the organisation’s health and safety data via a series of reports to maintain and ensure safe working practices and conditions.
The Post holder will report to and deputise for, the Property Services Risk Manager.
They will work closely with Occupational Health, Estates and Facilities, Infection prevention control, Back care team, Fire Safety and Security Managers to ensure that health and safety issues are properly coordinated and communicated to staff.
