At Saga, we are looking for a Management Accountant to join our Insurance Finance team.
In this role, you will be responsible for the Financial aspects of costs management and commercial support for both our brokering and claims businesses.
You will support the Finance Manager and Senior Finance Business Partner in ensuringthat the finance function delivers support, challenge & insight for all financial aspects of those businesses.
Collaboration is important to us at Saga, and our Insurance Finance team typically come together one day a week in Ashford, Kent.

Main Responsibilities
As a Management Accountant in our Insurance Overheads team, you will be responsible for General Ledger accounting along with preparation and control of balance sheet reconciliations.
You will be accountable for the following areas:
Production of monthly overhead actuals reporting versus forecast and budget. This includes entity level reporting and functional reporting for budget holders.
Preparing monthly performance variance analysis at a detailed spend level vs prior forecast and budget for presentation to management.
Identification of any emerging issues or risks, proposing appropriate and proportional solutions.
Supporting the Finance Manager and Senior Finance Business Partner in the preparation of full year forecast and variance analysis for overheads.
Supporting the Finance Manager and Senior Finance Business Partner in the preparation of the 5-year plan and budget models for overheads in accordance with business needs and central data requirements, including understanding of inputs and detailed analysis of variances version on version.
Assisting in the production of monthly PowerPoint packs for senior management review.
Responding in a timely accurate manner to all internal and external audit requests relevant to the role.
Ensuring that the business and our customers are always supported, including the speedy resolution of finance related information requests.
Ad hoc support on commercial projects.
The Ideal Candidate
Our ideal Management Accountant would be ACCA / CIMA / ACA qualified. Whilst experience within the Insurance industry isnt essential it would be advantageous.
You will need to have strong management accounting knowledge and experience with TM1 or an equivalent reporting system.
