As an Assistant Project Manager within our team, you will support project members on several development projects. You will assist with the management of stakeholder relations, the preparation of development and tender documents, and provide assistance in negotiations with landowners and governments. This includes solid project management administration, ensuring deadlines are met and monitoring the interests of the different parties involved in the dynamic environment of wind development. You will support the Project Manager with various sub-projects within a whole project in a cost-effective, safe, and timely manner.
Your responsibilities as the Assistant Project Manager:
1. Support and assist the project manager and project team with overall development to deliver the project through internal and external milestones and approvals to a Final Investment Decision.
2. Create and maintain a good, long-term relationship with other departments and external consultants involved in the projects.
3. Help promote a safety-conscious, high-energy, motivated organization and a culture of entrepreneurship, creativity, integrity, and professional team development.
4. Engage with landowners, public officials, and other local stakeholders to gain land positions and create local support for wind farm projects.
Your experience and qualifications as the Assistant Project Manager:
Candidates will have had some experience and a track record in successful junior project management. Some working knowledge in project development processes, procurement and contracting, and relevant legal, political, and environmental matters would be helpful.
In addition, you'll need to have:
1. Multi-skilled self-starter mentality, with high levels of energy and commitment to deliver.
2. Experience in wind development projects is preferred for quick involvement.
3. Basic project management knowledge.
4. Ability to adapt easily to different environments (political stakeholders, farmers, government officials, business partners) and manage these different settings.
5. Creative, problem-solving, and result-oriented.
6. Team player with the ability to work well under pressure.
7. Well-developed communication skills, especially in report writing and the analysis and presentation of complex technical issues in a clear, concise format.
8. Preparedness to travel and work out of office hours on occasion.
9. Driving license.
The location of the position is Northumberland with the flexibility of agile/remote working.
